Quirky Things about me

I am a tenacious researcher and amateur sleuth. My kids think I've missed my calling as a private investigator. I think I watched too much Scooby Doo as a kid!

I have a list-making habit, or maybe 'compulsion' is a better word. I tend to make lists of my lists!  Even though I write my books on a computer, much of my early research is composed

 of handwritten notes.  

 I have an incredible memory which many underestimate at their own peril...usually

 my children! 

 I crochet, knit, sew, and bake when I'm not banging away at the keyboard. I crochet and knit blankets, scarves and hats.  

I sew my kids' costumes--many, 

many costumes!  

My favorite thing to bake is a classic--

chocolate chip cookies. Yum!

I ABHOR snakes. I can't even look at them.  It is a completely irrational terror, 

but there it is.    

I love gardens but I do not have a green thumb. If the plant is not 'self-care' it's better off without me as a parent.  

I live with an auto immune disease and a generational rare disease. I know how it feels to have an unseen condition that people misunderstand. But, I know the Maker of my body put everything here on earth to help heal it. I am a huge advocate for nutrition as a support and healer of our bodies.  

I love all animals, with the exception of snakes (yuck!), but cats hold a special place in my heart. I have two beautiful cats, Jasper (black and white) and Alice (calico). They are best friends. UPDATE: I am sad to report Alice passed away July 2023 at only 3 years of age from a heart condition. We were with her until the very end. She is dearly loved and greatly missed.
